The Historical Society web page features the salute cannon at the entrance to Dormont Park. It is flanked by the mounts for what were probably machine guns before they
were "borrowed" by someone. In the 1945-1946 period, my aunt, Joanne Robinson,
was a student at DHS and her friends would ride me to the Park on their handlebars.
I remember the cannon from those days but not whether the guns were still there.
Does anyone have a history of the original emplacement?
